Mevagissey Feast Week is run entirely by volunteers and we need a lot of them to keep the festival going.

It is fun and rewarding to get involved, we’re planning an exciting week of events for 2012 so you can try new things meet new people have fun and make a real contribution to a lovely community event.

So why not sign up as a volunteer now. You don’t need to make a big commitment do as much as you want just a couple of hours if you like, every little helps. If you are not able to volunteer help but have an idea for an event please let us know we are always open to new suggestions.
Volunteers are mainly involved during the actual week (this years dates are 24th June - 30th June). But we also need help setting up the festival in advance. We will be holding volunteer meetings nearer the time, when you can learn more about what is involved with the various jobs and get advice and information. These sessions will cover health and safety and security as well as particular information you will need for stewarding, radio procedure and collecting. The Feast Week team will be there to sign you up to duties, and to tell you about things that you have not tried before, but might fancy having a go at this time.

These are some of the things where we will need you:-

                    Stewarding road closures
                    Marshalling the processions
Setting up the Fish Festival and Fete
Putting up the lights and flags
Collecting money-can rattling during the processions
Helping to make new festival decorations
